Covid update: Bedford records just six cases in 24 hours

As of today (March 29), Bedford has recorded just six new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 13,346 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths in Bedford (484), no deaths in Central Bedfordshire (567) and none in Luton (495).

Central Bedfordshire has 24 new Covid cases with a total of 15,721, while Luton recorded 35 with a new total of 19,941.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 31,046 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 75,912 and Milton Keynes has 19,787 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of today, 30,444,829 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 3,674,266 have received their second dose. ​

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 4,654 and now stands at 4,337,696. The number of deaths has risen by just 23 to 126,615.
