Covid update: Bedford records 20 cases in 24 hours

As of today (March 25), Bedford has recorded 20 new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 13,314 people now diagnosed with the virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There was one new death recorded in Bedford (484), no deaths in Central Bedfordshire (567) and one in Luton (492).

Central Bedfordshire has 40 new Covid cases with a total of 15,639, while Luton recorded 26 with a new total of 19,790.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 30,941 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 75,712 and Milton Keynes has 19,722 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 6,397 and now stands at 4,319,128. The number of deaths has risen by 63 to 126,445.

As of March 24, in the UK, 28,991,188 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 2,775,481 had received their second dose.
