Covid-19 update: Over 40 confirmed cases in Bedford in the last 24 hours

As of today (May 27), Bedford recorded 43 new case of coronavirus, with a total of 14,364 people now diagnosed with the virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths in Bedford (485), Luton (499) or Central Bedfordshire (571).

Central Bedfordshire has 23 new Covid cases with a total of 16,315, while Luton recorded 32 with a new total of 20,981.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 31,865 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 77,535 and Milton Keynes has 20,323 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 3,542 to 4,473,677. The number of deaths has risen by 10 to 127,758.

As of May 26, in the UK, 38,614,683 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 24,043,956 had received their second dose.
