Covid-19 Update: 29 people in Bedford test positive for coronavirus

As of today (June 3), Bedford recorded 29 new case of coronavirus, with a total of 14,601 people now diagnosed with the virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths in Bedford (485), Central Bedfordshire (570) or Luton (500).

Central Bedfordshire has 29 new Covid cases with a total of 16,445, while Luton recorded 20 with a new total of 21,138.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 32,052 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 77,836 and Milton Keynes has 20,423 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of today, 39,585,665 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 26,073,284 have received their second dose.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 5,274 and now stands at 4,499,878. There were 18 deaths, bringing the total to 127,812.
