Covid-19 latest: Just six people test positive in Bedford

As of today (March 19), Bedford has recorded just six new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 13,247 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths in Bedford (483), none in Central Bedfordshire (567) and none in Luton (490).

Central Bedfordshire has 23 new Covid cases with a total of 15,497, while Luton recorded 61 with a new total of 19,565.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 30,767 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 75,331 and Milton Keynes has 19,597 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of today, 26,263,732 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 2,011,070 have received their second dose. ​

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 4,802 and now stands at 4,285,684. The number of deaths has risen by 101 to 126,026.
