Covid-19 latest: Just eight people test positive in Bedford in 24 hours

As of today (March 17), Bedford has recorded eight new cases of coronavirus, with a total of 13,232 people now diagnosed with the deadly virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths in Bedford (483), none in Central Bedfordshire (567) and one in Luton (490).

Central Bedfordshire has 16 new Covid cases with a total of 15,450, while Luton recorded 37 with a new total of 19,474.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 30,714 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 75,208 and Milton Keynes has 19,560 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

In the UK, as of today, 25,273,226 people have received the first dose of the vaccination for Covid, and 1,759,445 have received their second dose. ​

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 5,758 and now stands at 4,274,579. The number of deaths has risen by 141 to 125,831.
