Covid-19 latest: here’s how many new positive cases have been recorded in Bedford over bank holiday weekend

Bedford has recorded 39 new positive Covid-19 cases over the bank holiday weekend, with a total of 13,564 people now diagnosed with the virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There were no deaths in Bedford (485) Luton (499) or Central Bedfordshire (571).

Central Bedfordshire has 18 new Covid cases with a total of 16,015, while Luton recorded 39 with a new total of 20,669.

Meanwhile, Buckinghamshire now has 31,625 cases of Covid, Hertfordshire has 76,941 and Milton Keynes has 20,133 cases.

The new figures are recorded between 5pm the previous day to 5pm and unfortunately don't include the number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases is now 4,421,850. The number of deaths is now 127,539.

As of May 2, in the UK, 34,588,600 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 15,500,949 had received their second dose.
