Restrictions at Lurke Street, River Street and Allhallows

To help prioritise staff on essential duties during the coronavirus outbreak, the opening hours of the council’s multi-storey car parks will be changing from today (Friday, March 20).

Lurke Street, River Street and Allhallows car parks will close at 7pm every night and open at 6am. This will be in place until further notice.

Cllr Charles Royden, portfolio holder for transport, said: “While our multi-storey car parks will be closed from overnight from 7pm to 6am, there is still parking available in our town at surface car parks. We know that people still need to go into town to get their shopping, and we would encourage you to support your local shops and businesses, while heeding the Government advice around social distancing and keeping safe.”
