Coronavirus latest: Two new cases in Bedford

The number of coronavirus infections in Bedford has risen by two in the past 24 hours, according to Public Health England.

The total number of cases in the borough now stands at 803 (+2).

Elsewhere in the county, Central Bedfordshire has 778 (+3) cases while Luton's figure has risen to 858 (+8).

NHS England figures show 201 people with the virus have died at Bedford Hospital over the course of the pandemic.

Across the country, there have been 312,654 infections at an increase of 689 over the past 24 hours.

43,730 people have died with coronavirus in the UK, up by 155 since yesterday.
