Bedford records three Covid deaths in a week

As of today (August 3), Bedford has recorded 243 cases since last Wednesday, with a total of 68,154 people now diagnosed with the virus, according to the latest figures from Public Health England

Central Bedfordshire recorded 295 cases, with a new total of 104,448, while Luton has 246, taking the total to 78,743.

And with Bedford recording 243 cases today – that averages at over 34 cases a day.

Since last Wednesday, there have been three deaths in Bedford (662), two in Luton (727), and nine in Central Bedfordshire (830).

Currently, 115 people are being treated for Covid at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. One patient is in a ventilation bed.

Unfortunately, there is no further breakdown between the two hospitals – Bedford and Luton & Dunstable.
