A borough council spokesperson said: “It is really important that as restrictions are lifted and businesses get the opportunity to reopen, they are able to do so. That is why the decision has been made to move the rapid covid-19 testing centre located at the John Bunyan Centre to the Faraday Community Centre.

“Rapid testing kits for those without symptoms and PCR tests for those with symptoms will still be available across Bedford Borough while the sports & fitness centre is closed.”

People who are showing symptoms including a high temperature, a new, continuous cough or a loss in their sense of taste or smell should immediately self-isolate and book a PCR test.
