Bedford Covid hotspots: Over 50 people in Bromham and Biddenham test positive in the space of a week

Figures from Public Health England show a breakdown of coronavirus cases in Bedford for seven days up to June 3.

The previous hotspot areas - Queen's Park, Cauldwell, Kingsbrook - have all experienced another drop in cases but in Bromham and Biddenham - cases have risen sharply.

In the space of a week, the number of people testing positive in Bromham and Biddenham have gone up from just 15 to 56.

A Bedford Borough Council spokesman said:L “Having identified extra cases at a local school where a number of the pupils live in Bromham and Biddenham, extra testing was rolled out for staff, pupils and their families over the last weekend.”

Harpur - 6 cases

Harrold, Chellington & Turvey - 9 cases

Kempston Central & East - 0-2 cases

Kempston North - 9 cases

Kempston West & South - 8 cases

Kingsbrook - 14 cases

Newnham - 13 cases

Putnoe - 11 cases

Queen's Park - 16 cases

Riseley & Sharnbrook - 3 cases
