Coronavirus latest: Five new cases in Bedford in past 48 hours

Five new instances of coronavirus have been confirmed in Bedford in the past 48 hours, according to Public Health England data.

As of today (August 14), Bedford has a total of 1,393 (+5) people diagnosed with the deadly virus.

Central Bedfordshire also nine new cases, with a total of 1,408 (+9) and Luton has 8 new cases, with a total of 1,669 (+8).

A total of 316,267 people across the UK have been diagnosed with coronavirus, up by 1,441 since yesterday.

Public Health England is reevaluating how it analyses Covid-19 deaths.

New deaths will only be recorded as Covid-19 related if they occurred within 28 days of the patient's first diagnosis of coronavirus.
