Bedford hoping to clean up in Keep Britain Tidy awards

The Keep Britain Tidy awards celebrate council's efforts to make significant improvements to the environment on people’s doorstep.

And the council’s community volunteers are hoping its 11,500 hours given last year to support our parks and open spaces won't go unnoticed.

Mayor Dave Hodgson said: “It is fantastic news. This recognition would not have been possible without the ongoing commitment of our fantastic volunteers within the Parks and Open Spaces Team, who took part in more than 2,700 community volunteer sessions and events last year.
