Alternative practice found as doctor's surgery in Bedford closes

An alternative has now been found after patients were told Rothesay Surgery in Bedford would close at the end of this month.

Goldington Avenue Surgery will take on the patients who are local to the surgery and will keep the building in Rothsay Place as its new branch.

Last month, Bedford Today revealed Dr Sarah Hood's decision to leave the practice as she is moving away

A spokesman for Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group (BLMK CCG) confirmed local patients would be transferred to Goldington Avenue Surgery.

And added: "Out of area patients are being supported to register with a local GP closer to their home address."
