Sharnbrook Academy students celebrate GCSE grades

Students at Sharnbrook Academy in Bedford are being congratulated today (Thursday) after receiving their well-deserved GCSE results.

Students were unable to take their exams this year because of the Covid-19 pandemic with teachers instead predicting how they would have performed.

Some of the stand-out performances from students at the academy include:

- Maddie Lever, who achieved eleven grade 9s.

- Melissa Gregory, who achieved 9s and 8s across the board.

- Tommy Auld, who also achieved 9s and 8s in all his subjects.

Sharnbrook Academy is part of the Sharnbrook Academy Federation, a group of five high-performing schools across Bedfordshire.

Clare Raku, Academy principal at Sharnbrook Academy, said: “Despite the disruption and uncertainty of this year, our Year 11 students have remained positive, focused and determined throughout.

"We are delighted that the vast majority of our students have been awarded the grades that they need to move onto the next stage of their education, training or employment, and we are looking forward to welcoming back so many of our students to our sixth form in September.”
