HRH Sophie, Countess of Wessex, was at Lakeview School in The Wixams, where she was greeted by a crowd of flag-waving children.
She met with staff, as well as the architects who designed it, before officially opening the school at a special assembly.
The princess also met a number of pupils. One girl told her: “The princess is coming to my school”
Her Royal Highness replied: “I’ll let you into a secret, I am her!”
