GCSEs: Lincroft Academy delighted with students' grades

Lincroft Academy students were delighted as they collected their GCSE results today (Thursday).

Staff and students came together to celebrate the many achievements at the end of what has been an unprecedented end to the academic year for all schools across the country.

Students were unable to take their exams this year because of the Covid-19 pandemic with teachers instead predicting how they would have performed.

Amongst some of the individual successes this year were:

- David Supple, who achieved four grade 9s and three grade 8s

- Connor Cox, who secured a grade 9 in Music and two grade 8s. Connor is now going on to The Purcell School, one of the oldest music schools in the country

- Jamie Whiting, who in addition to his excellent A Level results last week, achieved four grade 9s and three grade 8s.

- Jasmine Little, who attained a grade 9 in Dance and grade 8s in Music and Drama. Jasmine is now going on to study at Arts One, a Performing Arts specialist school in Milton Keynes.

Lincroft Academy, which became a secondary academy in September 2017, is part of the Sharnbrook Academy Federation (SAF), a group of five high-performing schools across Bedfordshire.

Andrew Hencken, Academy principal at Lincroft Academy, said: “I’d like to congratulate all our students on their richly deserved GCSE results, their success is testament not only to their hard work and dedication, but the excellent teaching and commitment of all our staff at Lincroft Academy.

"My thanks go to all our students for everything they have done for the academy during their time here.

"Many of the students will now continue their studies at the SAF sixth form at Sharnbrook Academy and I would like to wish them and all of the students who made up our very first cohort of Year 11s the very best as they move on to their next chapter wherever that may be.”
