Forest school back up and running with nature sessions in Bedfordshire

Marston Vale Forest School celebrates its seventh birthday by relaunching sessions following its temporary closure due to Covid.

After hanging up the ropes during the lockdown, from today (October 9), the school will be running sessions in Ampthill Great Park, The Forest of Marston Vale, Berry Wood and Hartwell Leisure in Cranfield to coincide with National Forest School Day.

They'll be hand washing facilities, social distancing measures and reduced participant numbers.

Shona Perrett, Marston Vale Forest School founder, said: “I am proud to be able to celebrate National Forest School day doing what I love. I think the woodland is the perfect environment to give children the opportunity for normality and connect with nature during a global pandemic.”

Established in 2013, the Forest School provides children with learning opportunities in an outdoor environment. From insect identification to fire building, it's hoped the socially-distanced sessions will inspire children to grow confidence and independence and gain an appreciation for nature.
