98% of pupils return to the classroom at primary school near Bedford
"Everything felt normal again," says headteacher
After being away from the classroom since March, 98 per cent of pupils returned to Bromham CofE Primary School.
According to the headteacher, the children loved coming through the welcoming balloon archway into their new beginnings of the academic year.
Gurjit Virk, headteacher of the school, said: "It is fabulous to have the children back; seeing happy and excited children and parents at the gate was a wonderful experience.
"As I walked around the school today, it was brilliant to see our children actively engaged in their learning and generally delighted to be back to business.
"Everything felt normal again. It also reminded me, being back amongst staff and children, what an amazing school I have the privilege to lead."
Bromham staff have worked hard over the summer break to make sure the classrooms are ready and prepared for a new way of working.
They will spend time this week reconnecting with the children and ensuring their mental health and well-being is at the forefront of everything they do.
