Trains disrupted on the Bedford-Brighton line

RAIL commuters are being warned of severe disruption on the Bedford to Brighton line and will face up to three hours extended journey time.

Restrictions are being put in place with trains between Bedford, Luton and Brighton being suspended between London Blackfriars and Gatwick Airport.

Passengers travelling between Bedfordshire and Gatwick are advised to change at West Hampstead Thameslink for Jubilee Line services to Waterloo.

Customers with flight connections are being strongly advised to make alternative arrangements to get to Gatwick Airport.

Network Rail engineers are clearing the tracks after a burst water pipe in the South Croydon area caused flooding and are expecting disruption for the rest of the day, which could continue until Tuesday, August 2.
