Old folk urged to grab insulation bonus

A leading charity’s commercial arm is urging those most in need to take up offer of free insulation plus £100 this winter

Age UK Enterprises, part of Age UK, has teamed up with energy supplier E.ON to highlight the offer of free cavity wall and standard loft insulation, plus a cheque for £100 towards their energy bill.

Anyone in receipt of pension credit can apply, whether they are an E.ON customer or not. Age UK estimates that one in three of those eligible for pension credit in the UK still aren’t claiming it, and many of those could be missing out on insulation, too.

The average home can save up to £390 a year on energy bills by insulating homes with cavity wall and loft insulation, yet over half of people recently surveyed by E.ON (57 per cent) aren’t aware that such savings are possible.

Nigel Dewbery of E.ON said: “By working together with Age UK, we’re keen to help as many people as we possibly can.

“This offer allows us to reach some of the most vulnerable people in society with free insulation, lower energy bills, and a cheque for £100 to offer help in paying energy bills – and the beauty of it is that you don’t have to be an E.ON customer to qualify. We’re here to help so we’d urge people to get in contact with us now to find out more.”

Gordon Morris of Age UK Enterprises added: “Installing insulation will keep your home warmer in winter and help you cut your energy bills – without scrimping on comfort. If you or someone you know could benefit from this free insulation offer, please act now.”
