Legal talent management agency launched

The MDA Partnership, which operates from the high-tech i-Lab in Bedford, will find and recruit the highest quality legal practitioners as well as providing advice on attracting and keeping key personnel.

The firm has been founded by legally qualified HR specialist Margaret Desir who has more than 20 years of experience in employment and corporate law including a background with major international and city legal firms.

In December 2010, she was asked by an elite client to headhunt a top quality lawyer, and she quickly saw a glaring gap in the market - an exclusive agency that could identify the right legal experts to fill very specific positions in major legal corporations.

MDA was born and set up in Bedford to focus on sourcing top performing lawyers who excel at what they do for market leading law firms and legal departments.

Ms Desir said: “Unlike the majority of employment agencies, we focus exclusively on finding the ‘hard to find’ top legal talent, those top performing lawyers who excel at what they do.

“Not only must they have the right qualifications and relevant specialist experience, but they must also be able to provide added value by bringing in skills to enhance the legal department and helping their prospective employer to grow the business.”

MDA has already built up an impressive database and network of top calibre candidates. Ms Desir added: “We don’t ‘sell’ but ‘consult’ and pay meticulous attention to the individual needs of our clients so that we can source the right candidate. We have an excellent reputation within the industry and our success will be built on our experience, market intelligence and sector knowledge.”

Margaret was awarded the title Bedfordshire Businesswoman of the Year in 2004, for her outstanding achievements in businesses.

She has been invited to be a speaker at the annual Every Woman Conference.
