‘Cut NI now’ – FSB

SMALL businesses across Herts and Beds are urging the government to extend the National Insurance Contributions (NICs) holiday to existing firms to stimulate job creation in the private sector.

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has welcomed the government’s commitment for a National Insurance holiday for start-up businesses that take on up to five members of staff.

FSB research shows 44 per cent of small firms would take on more staff if the government cut NI.

FSB Beds, Cambs and Herts Regional Chairman Ian Cording said: “As we have heard time and again, the government is looking to the private sector to lead the recovery, but without the right measures in place, small firms are left without the tools they need to do the job.”
