Customer care in Twitter age

A DUNSTABLE retailer that uses Facebook and Twitter to keep in touch with customers has entered our Rising Stars business excellence awards.

Adrian White and his daughter Annette run pchelpcentre in High Street South, providing laptop repairs, instant remote support, data recovery and web designs.

Annette said: “As a small retailer, customer service has to be at the forefront of everything we do.

“When it comes to service, the customer is always right to expect certain things, like being greeted when they come into the shop.”

And pchelpcentre, formed from a research and development business in 2005, uses new social media sites to keep in touch with customers and encourage feedback.

And that’s part of the reason the company has entered the customer care excellence category in the Luton and Bedfordshire awards.

The category is sponsored by accountants and business advisers, Keens Shay Keens. Barclays is the headline sponsor.

Annette said: “Like anyone we don’t always get it right but it is about managing the issues. We encourage customers to be open and honest.”

The category is open to all businesses and organisations, regardless of size and area of activity. The judges will be looking for exemplary customer service, over and above usual expectations.

There are 10 categories in this year’s awards and details can be found by visiting www2.lutontoday.co.uk/risingstars2011. The link is on this web page.
