Wootton's new Sainsbury's Local store will open this weekend

Sainsbury’s has announced that its new Local store in Wootton will officially open its doors at 7am on Sunday, June 28.

The new store on Folkes Road will offer customers a convenient choice of food, including fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy products, a fresh bakery and a self-service Costa coffee machine.

On Sunday, headteacher of nearby Wootton Lower School, Chris Tavener, will cut the ribbon at an opening ceremony at 9am, where all Government guidance on social distancing will be adhered to.

The store will be open from 7am till 11pm, Monday to Sunday and will have car parking available for customers.

David Button, Sainsbury’s Wootton Local Store Manager said: “The new store looks fantastic and we have a team of colleagues who are excited to welcome and serve customers, providing them with a convenient place to pick up a coffee and their favourite grocery products.

“Our aim is to provide great quality and value alongside friendly service and we really look forward to playing an active role in the Wootton community.”

As well as creating 20 jobs, the new store will play an active role in the local community and will be supporting Sainsbury’s nationwide community programmes and charity partners.

The convenience store has already supported Bizzy Bees Preschool in Wootton with some new toys and essentials.
