The developer currently has homes for sale at Brambleside in Houghton Regis, Lestone Mews in Leighton Buzzard, Berry Wood in Wootton, Eastcotts Green in Shortstown and The Pastures in Wilstead.

Luke Southgate, Sales Director for Bellway Northern Home Counties, said: “The lockdown has encouraged more people to get fit and do things together as a family, and cycling is a great way to combine the two.

“By offering this incentive we hope to raise awareness of Cycle to Work Day - and the benefits of cycling generally – and to inspire more people to make two wheels their preferred mode of transport.

“We have an extremely successful Cycle to Work scheme which has helped many of our employees to save money on a brand new bike and we are delighted to be making these vouchers available to our customers in Bedfordshire so they can do the same.”

Bellway’s Cycle to Work scheme for employees enables staff to get up to £1,000 in vouchers to purchase a bike of their choice.

Among the Bellway staff taking part in the scheme, is Paul Smits, Managing Director for Bellway Northern Home Counties, who now uses his bike to cycle around 14 miles to and from the office each day.

Bellway Northern Home Counties sales advisor, Colin Waring, who cycles almost 14 miles a day, also benefits from the scheme, he said: “Cycling is a really easy form of exercise, and there are many benefits to it.

“Health benefits aside, it helps to cut down on traffic and there is plenty of scenic countryside in Bedfordshire to explore by bike.

“The staff at Bellway are very grateful to have such a beneficial Cycle to Work scheme, and I’ll be using it to buy a new bike that I’ve wanted for a while this year.”
