Cloud draws huge crowd to lecture

A hugely successful joint British Computer Society (BCS) and Bedford College free evening lecture was held recently.

“What is Cloud Computing and what does it mean for your business?” was the topic of a talk by Ted Shultz, Business Development Manager, Cloud Services, Microsoft Corporation on October 5.

Cloud Computing has been suggested as the next major change in business IT. It promises the use of IT without the cost of owning and maintaining the hardware and software infrastructure.

It promises access anytime, anywhere, and from any device.

It promises the use of IT without the expenses of keeping IT staff. Is this a real revolution in IT or another technology mumble jumble from the vendors? The meeting aimed to help non-technical persons to learn about the possibilities and ask an expert for information.

Ted has over 15 years of experience in the telecommunications and IT industry. He is currently evangelising Microsoft’s Cloud Services to Microsot’s partner community in the UK.

He previously held roles within AT&T, Level (3) and Verizon and has a BS in Accounting and MBA in International Business.
