A taste of true art at Kubrick estate festival
The Childwickbury Estate, once home to film director Stanley Kubrick, is getting ready to open its gates for the 12th annual Childwickbury Arts Fair.
On July 3, 4 and 5, a celebration of creativity explodes on to the tranquil country estate situated between St Albans and Harpenden.
More than 60 artists will come together from all over the UK to demonstrate their skills, meet people and sell their work. It’s a relaxed and informal way to buy original art from a selection of styles, mediums and disciplines.
There is live music all day Saturday and Sunday – and with the stage central to the fair it creates a festival vibe throughout the event. Headline act Co-Jones, a popular band from St Albans, appear on Saturday and all music is included in the one daily entrance ticket.
A variety of fresh food is available all day including wood-fired pizza and South African street food.
Hot and cold drinks and a licensed bar until late caters for everyone.
Christiane Kubrick, professional artist and creator of The Childwickbury Arts Fair, said: “We are serious about art and the fact we’re continually building on the success of previous fairs shows that an event like ours is well received and respected.
“By presenting art in such a unique and relaxed environment we abandon the formalities of expensive art galleries and turn original art into something that is truly for everyone.”
Tickets are available on the day. Adult tickets cost £8 on Friday and £9 on Saturday and Sunday.
