Save the last dance for me

DREAMBOATS & Petticoats has proven a box office smash in theatreland, and now the two chaps who penned that, and small screen smash hits including Shine on Harvey Moon and Goodnight Sweetheart, return with Save The Last Dance For Me.

Writers Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran have applied the same rock n roll formula this time around too, with classic hits by Pomus and Shuman sowing the work together – songs like A Teenager in Love, Sweets for my Sweet, Viva Las Vegas, Can’t Get Used To Losing You, and naturally the tune that has lent its name to the show.

This nostalgia driven performance is based on two girsl from Luton...

For the first time without their parents, the duo set off on holiday to the seaside with high-spirits and untethered freedom.

They meet a handsome young American who invites them to a dance at the local U.S. Air force base.

But the path of young love never did run smooth, and holiday romances are just the same.

So, while the world around them is still watching itself in black and white, they discover first hand that life and love can be every colour of the rainbow!

Performances are daily from Tuesday, through to Saturday, April 14 at 7.30pm, with additional matinees on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at 2.30pm.

Tickets start st £12 and rise to £29.50.
