Lost city challenge

DO you fancy challenging yourself to a trek along the Jurassic Coast – or a visit the lost city of Machu Picchu?

The Olympics are less than 100 days away and it is very hard to avoid getting caught up in the excitement. Television adverts, billboards and radio adverts are all promoting a healthy lifestyle and a chance to get active.

Sue Ryder-St John’s Hospice are encouraging this by creating active challenges for people to take part in and help raise funds for the Hospice.

This September, people have the opportunity to sign up and take part in a trek along the Jurassic Coast in Dorset. On this two day 41Km trek you will walk along a natural world heritage site dating back over 185 million years through the Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic periods.

Or if you fancy something a little further, then how about travelling to Peru and trekking the Inca trail to the ancient sites of the lost city of Machu Picchu? The challenge is in May 2013 where you can spend 10 days challenging yourself by trekking in altitudes between 2800m and 4200m high.
