Viewers who tune into CBBC at 5pm will see presenter Lindsey Russell meet the two precious new arrivals.

Born in September 2015, the two tiny cubs have now had their inoculations and after spending their first months in the specially designed tiger house, with their proud, first time mother, four-year old Minerva, they will be shown on TV as they explore the rest of their home.

The tigers are among the largest and rarest cats in the world, and the new cubs signify an important achievement not just for the park, but for the European Endangered Species Breeding Programme of this threatened species.

Many people aren’t aware just how few Siberian tigers are left in the world – with only around 326 Siberian tigers in captivity across Europe and Russia, and only approximately 520 in the wild.

There has been drastic reductions in numbers of all tiger sub-species due to poaching (their fur and body parts used in traditional Chinese medicine) and from loss of habitat.

This year the team at Woburn Safari Park will be fundraising for the Siberian tiger, with a charity weekend (July 30-31) to raise money for the Siberian Leopard and Tiger Alliance – a charity working on vital conservation projects in the tigers’ wild habitat in Siberia.
