19th Century Vienna is to spring to life

WALTZ back in time to the glittering ballrooms of 19th century Vienna with an enchanting mix of music, song and dance from the Strauss family and friends.

The Johann Strauss Gala is taking place at Cambridge this month and is set to entertain audiences with a variety of dances and music.

The Johann Strauss Orchestra is directed from the violin in traditional Viennese manner by David Juritz with sparkling soprano Amy Freston.

And the Johann Strauss Dancers will perform in glorious costumes of the period.

Dances include the Tritsch Tratsch Polka, The Blue Danube Waltz, Emperor Waltz, Auf der Jagd, Pizzicato Polka, Radetzky March, Cuckoo Polka. Thunder and Lightning Polka, The Laughing Song from Die Fledermaus, and Tales from the Vienna Woods.

The show is guaranteed to put a smile on your face and a spring in your step as we all face up to the January blues.

Catch the Strauss Family at Cambridge Corn Exchange on Thursday, January 20, with the performance kicking off at 7.30pm.
