It's hoped national media coverage will help school's cause

A soccer school which provides free sessions for children is appealing for a permanent ground - and it's call is attracting national attention.

Sky Sports News is visiting Bruno’s Brazilian Soccer School CIC to help boost its plea.

Bruno Santos, managing director of the school along with Matt Brinsden, said: "We started as volunteers, working with disadvantaged children. And now we coach 100 children a week."

But the children - many from disadvantaged backgrounds - often train at Russell Park and play at Bedford Park.

Bruno added: "We are scattered and we just want one ground where the kids can call home.

"We are not asking for a lot. Just somewhere with a community hub.

"It's really disheartening as the people of Bedford really support us. We deliver free sport activity for kids and back-to-work programmes for refugees."

As well as running five youth teams, the soccer school also has an adult refugee community team which plays in a registered league.

Watch out for the Sky Sports News report on Saturday morning - which will feature a training session and the school's first friendly game since lockdown was eased
