Laid-back grooves and hard-swinging sounds come to the Bedford Arms on Monday when three acclaimed musicians pay a visit.

Saxophonist Josh Kemp brings his new Hammond organ project to the weekly night as part of a UK tour promoting their his album ‘Rare Groove’. Combining Josh’s rich tone and fluid improvising style together with attractive and accessible compositions, the band features some of the most in-demand jazz musicians in the UK.

Ross Stanley’s musical skills have kept him in high demand, seeing him play with jazz names such as Will Vinson, Dennis Rollins and Guy Barker.

Steve Fishwick is widely considered to be one of the best jazz trumpet players ever to come from the UK, and is rapidly gaining a global reputation thanks to his flawless technique and his flowing, harmonically rich improvisations. He is one of an increasing number of trumpeters who have been heavily influenced by the melodic approach of the late Kenny Dorham.

Josh completed a 30 date UK tour in 2014 and plays regularly at Ronnie Scott’s and jazz clubs and festivals around the UK.

Music starts at 8.30pm, with a suggested donation of £5 asked from the audience to pay the musicians for their performance, at the end of the first of their two sets.
