Young engineers and scientists will be kept busy in Bedford as temporary science labs pop-up around town this month.

A day of free workshops, activities, demonstrations and challenges is being hosted by BedPop on Saturday March 11.

Bedford Central Library, the Higgins Bedford, the Quarry Theatre at St Luke’s, Basement @ Bunyan and Rogan’s Books will become pop-up science labs, hosting dozens of workshops, demonstrations, experiments, challenges and activities.

BedPop founder Erica Roffe said: “Last year’s BedPop Science Lab was such a success that we couldn’t wait to make this year’s even bigger and better.

“We’ve added three extra venues, with even more mind-blowing experiments, demonstrations and workshops. There’s definitely something for everyone.”

Visitors can expect a varied programme of events and activities. The Bletchley Park codecrackers are bringing an Enigma machine, Bedford Creative Arts are making animated environments and participants can even make their own cave paintings with Albion Archaeology.
