A bunch of enthusiastic amateurs are aiming to provide a final flourish of festive cheer to the area wth a pantomime for all the family.
Haynes Amateur Dramatic Society is encouraging people to come along and cheer the heroes and boo the villaines when Dick Whittington is staged in the village both Friday February 5 and Saturday February 6.
The ever popular story is the group’s 41st production and the group has a reputation in the local area for producing a colourful and noisy show but one that is faithful to the original storyline.
A spokesman for the group said: “Our production of Dick Whittington is no different though we didn’t realise until now that he and his Cat walked to London from Haynes!”
Visitors to the show will also be able to find out in Eric Carter’s script more about London’s best known Lord Mayor and his encounters with the evil King Rat.
The performances are at 7.30pm on Friday and 2.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday.
It will be staged at Haynes Village Hall where there will also be a licensed bar and refreshments available.
Tickets for the show are £7 for adults and £5 for children under the age of 16 and senior citizens.
Family tickets for four people are also available at a cost of £20.
