Christmas is fast approaching and at the Tourist Information Centre (TIC) in St Paul’s Square, there are lots of gift ideas with a local feel.

We stock a wide range of items that display the Bedford brand and these make excellent presents for friends and relatives who have an interest in our town.

Gifts range from leather wallets, hessian bags, torches and china mugs to boxed
pens, tea towels and drinks coasters.

There is also a large range of locally produced items which are increasingly popular as more and more people are choosing to support local businesses and reduce their carbon footprint.

Why not purchase some scrumptious honey from Bromham?

Alternatively, there are stylish ceramic items from both Peter Cuthbertson of Bletsoe and POG Crafts Pottery of Harrowden.

We also have Bedford Best beer, produced by Whitepark Brewery of Cranfield.

There is a collection of stunning items made of local Bedfordshire lace, such as bookmarks, trinket boxes with pretty lace designs incorporated into their lids and lovely lace brooches.

We have mounted, black and white photographs of Bedford in the early 1900s by Helen Dawkins of Radwell and fantastic watercolour prints of modern Bedford.

For those who enjoy history, take a look at our large range of local interest books or marvel at our fascinating coin collections from yesteryear.

We have a range of gifts incorporating the union flag, which include, tea towels, umbrellas, coffee mugs and giant pens and pencils.

Theatre Tokens make wonderful presents as they can be redeemed at over 235 venues across the UK (including all of London’s West End) and they have no expiry date. They come in £5, £10 and £20 denominations.

We also sell the ever popular Bedford Town Centre gift vouchers which are redeemable at over 200 outlets!

Vouchers are available in £5 and £10 denominations and make excellent local Christmas presents by allowing the recipients not only to purchase the gift of their choice but also to support local businesses.

Vouchers are valid for one year from the date stamped on them.

For friends and family who live further away, we sell the national ‘Love 2 Shop’ vouchers that can be used in a variety of well known stores across the UK. These are also available in denominations of £5 or £10.

Why not book up for a show? The Bedford Central Box Office has now relocated into the Tourist Information Centre.

We are able to book for shows at local venues such as the Corn Exchange, The Place, Sharnbrook Mill and Bedford School Theatre.

We can also book for the pantomimes at Milton Keynes Theatre and the Royal & Derngate in Northampton.

Once again, we are selling charity Christmas Cards through the Cards For Good Causes Scheme as well as cards sold in aid of a variety of local charities.
