New York, New York is the theme for the Ampthill Park Proms taking place on Sunday.

The Ampthill Town Band, the Redborne Jazz Band and Ampthill Concert Orchestra will perform as part of the Ampthill Festival, with the internationally renowned soloist Rebecca Bottone lending her powerful and voice.

Ampthill Park Proms is staged in the natural amphitheatre of Ampthill Park in Bedfordshire and runs from 6pm to 11pm, with American-themed music and much to keep the crowds entertained.

Tickets cost £16 for adults and £7 for children aged 13 and under. Visit www.ampthill

Earlier in the day, Ampthill Park hosts a Gala Day is a free community event which takes place from 12.30pm to late afternoon. It’s a chance to relax, listen to great music, watch arena acts, meet up with friends and find out about your local community groups and businesses.

A highlight of Gala Day is the parade which passes through the town centre and arrives at the park around 1.15pm. This year’s show includes local dance groups, cheerleaders and Dangerous Steve.

The popular climbing wall will return for 2015 and for those who are feeling even more adventurous, we have Safari Stu who will be bringing a range of reptiles, Invertebrates and Mammals for children and adults to hold and chat to Stu about his collection.
