A group of young lads from Bedford are set to DJ at one of the biggest nightclubs in the UK - the Ministry of Sound.
DJs Simon Ekins, 22, Ollie Rogers and Sam Covie, both 25, Will Drown, 24, and Kieron Ayres, 28, are all set to play at Ministry of Sound in London on Saturday, February 15.
The five guys, who mostly all DJ in their spare time alongside full-time jobs, are set to play at Ministry - the home of dance - along with headline act Basement Jaxx.
Ollie said: “We have done a couple of nights for a promoter in Milton Keynes who has a label called Deep Inside, and he just basically asked us if we wanted to do it.
“Considering I’ve only been DJing for a year it’s really exciting. It’s a really big thing to be asked to play there and it’s going to be a really good night.”
Will added: “Its really exciting to be playing a night that is being headlined by Basement Jaxx. They don’t really do a lot of clubs, they mainly do festivals.
“It’s looking like it’s going to be a really packed night. It will be the biggest thing we’ve done so far.”
Simon DJs full time and currently works at Hi-Fi, based on Bedford High Street, three times a week and DJs at various club nights as and when they come up, as well as Djing for local radio station In2Beats.
He said: “It will be a really good opportunity to learn off other DjS and to meet Basement Jaxx would be absolutely amazing.
“It’s such a rush when you get up there, I think that’s why I carried on doing it. The fact that people are going mad for what you are doing is just incredible.”
Simon will be playing at a pre-party at The Gigulum in Clapham where everyone will then go onto Ministry at Elephant & Castle.
And following the club night there will also be an after party at an unknown venue.
The boys will be DJing along with the likes of big names including Nineties and Toyboy and Robin.
