Hobbycraft is set to open a new store in Bedford.
The retailer will trade from a brand new unit on St John’s Centre Retail Park in Bedford from Thursday, May 22.
The store will open its doors at 9am. Weekend celebrations will include art demonstrations from the new team, ‘make and play’ sessions for children, free balloon modelling and face painting.
The arts and crafts store - which will be located in a brand new, 12,400 sq ft unit - has created 23 new jobs.
Among the new recruits are Lorna Harris, 25, from Bedford who has been working in retail since completing an art degree and will be taking a full time position within the team.
Lorna said: “I’m very much looking forward to our new store opening and to starting my new role.
“I’m over the moon to have been offered a position within the team, I have always been interested in art and this new role means I’ll be able to be more creative in the workplace and share my skills with others. I’m also very excited about building relationships with local groups, who share our passion for making and creating.”
Store manager, Charlie Culley, said: “We’ve all worked very hard over the past few weeks to make sure the store is exactly what people have been asking for. Whether you’re at an advanced level or just want some tips on how to get started, we’ll have something to offer everyone.
“Our colleagues are devoted crafters and they’re always happy to share their knowledge. Local artists will also be invited to spend time at the store to showcase their own skills.”
