Flavours of India and an auction boost funds for hospital charity

A fund-raising evening for the Friends of Bedford Hospital hosted by the Bengal Brasserie, on The Broadway, Bedford has raised more than £800 for the charity.

Forty guests enjoyed a delicious two-course dinner followed by a raffle and charity auction at the ‘Flavours of India’ dinner on Thursday, November 28.

Auction prizes were kindly donated by local businesses, including the Embankment Hotel, the Swan Hotel, the Bengal Brasserie, the White Horse Pub in Newnham Avenue, the Radhuni Indian Restaurant on the Embankment, and the Hungry Horse “Anchor” Restaurant in Goldington Road.

Barclays Bank, Bedford will also be making a donation to support this event, which raised £828 for the hospital.

A spokeswoman for the Friends said: “The Friends raise funds throughout the year to buy medical equipment that the NHS cannot afford, and to improve patients’ experience in hospital. Volunteers to help with fundraising are warmly welcomed.”
