Beautiful machines took centre stage at Sharnbrook at the weekend.
The annual Classics at the Sharnbrook event on Sunday capitalised on its annual success with a vast array of stunning vehicles.
And even though the weather threatened to dampen spirits, it remained dry all day.
From vintage to classic, from rare to supercars as well as Americana and ‘interesting’ vehicles all ventured to the North Bedfordshire petrolheads hot spot for a gathering of like-minded enthusiasts.
The Ciampi family, who own and run The Sharnbrook Hotel & VesuviO, launched their 2014 Cancer Research UK charity appeal at Sunday’s event with the opportunity to win a car as well as other prizes.
Tickets are priced at £20 each with a limited number of 1,000 tickets. A 1992 Mitsubishi GTO has been donated by Tony & Nancy Carrea of Bedford as the first prize with the tickets available from reception at the hotel throughout the summer as the draw will take place at the Supercar Sunday, September 7.
In addition to the raffle, Ella and Bessy’s cupcake stall and the Stig’s impromptu visit to the event raised another £250 for Cancer Research UK on the day – the 2014 target is £20,000.
General manager Ciro Ciampi said: “Sunday’s event was absolutely excellent, we had a great turnout of cars and visitors while both VesuviO and The Amalfi Suite were full to capacity with guests enjoying lunch while savouring the Spanish Grand Prix.”
The eighth annual Bedfordshire Italian Car & Bike Day is on Sunday, June 22.
