Bedford By The Sea returns to town
If you do like to be beside the seaside, then get your bucket and
spade ready because Bedford By The Sea is back.

Following the success of last year's holiday high jinks, the summer event is back at the Harpur Centre and runs until Saturday, August 2.

More than 15 tonnes of sand has been put in place to turn the town centre into something like Bondi Beach.

And some traditional seaside entertainment, like Punch and Judy, coupled with some themed workshops, crafts, food and stalls are adding a coastal flair to the town.

Andy Pidgen, Bedford Borough Council events manager, said: "Bedford's nearest beach is more than 150 miles away so we've brought the beach to
Bedford.

"Every day we've got activities going on, from building sandcastles to
painting faces. We're hoping for a bit of sunshine but there will be plenty of ice creams, deck chairs and a holiday atmosphere."
