Two days of fun along The Embankment

Laughter and gasps of amazement were the sounds on the street on Saturday, at a two-day festival of street entertainment.

Professional street acts came to Bedford from across the country, ranging from the Edmond Tahl mime show to the eccentric cabaret of The Splott Brothers.

There were also comedians, stilt walkers, clowns, street theatre, maypole dancing and even a nine-hole golf course, all spread along The Embankment.

The event also saw the reopening of the Mill Meadows bandstand and a performance by the Bedford Town Band.
