Hospital staff reunion marks 60 years since the start of the national health service
Diamond anniversary celebrations for the NHS kicked off in style at Bedford Hospital when former members of staff were reunited with some old friends.
Doctors and nurses who have worked at the hospital since the formation of the NHS, set up in 1948 by Aneurin Bevan, returned for an open day on Friday, July 4.
The celebrations proved the perfect opportunity for Bedford Hospital NHS Trust to showcase some of its medical equipment from the last century so visitors could see just how far technology has advanced.
