Bedford Power Prammers inspire new mums to get back in shape by running with babies

This group of yummy mummys are showing just what a bit of Olympic spirit can inspire, after taking up the sport of running with babies.

The matriarchs got motoring as part of the Bedford Power Prammers, who meet at Bedford Park every Wednesday morning at 10.30am to run with their offspring in the prams.

Organiser Janet Lehain, whose children are two-year-old Sophie and four-month-old Rachael, said: "We have been going for about 18 months now.

The fitness of the girls has gone up in that time, so we are
currently running a six-week beginners course for anyone who is put off by being worried that they will be less fit than the rest of us. We have some dads in the group, and if any grandparents want to join us then they would be welcome to enjoy the fun."

Today's Vote

What do you think about Government proposals to double the size of Yarl's Wood?
After what we've been through in Bedfordshire with the riot and fire five years ago, I'd rather the facilities were built somewhere else.
Fair enough, we have got to house failed asylum seekers somewhere.
It's a recipe for disaster housing foreign criminals with immigrants who have outstayed their visas and others going through the fast-track immigration process.
