Bedford Proms In The Park organisers confirm a second outdoor concert in July.

Organisers of Bedford's Proms In The Park have announced plans for a
second outdoor concert this summer.

The classical music and fireworks extravaganza on Saturday, August 2 will be followed the next evening by 'Soul On Sunday', a laid-back picnic party of non-stop hits featuring a selection of top bands who made the genre popular.

The concerts are promoted by Bedford-based Easternbreeze, a company which is looking forward to a sizzling summer of fun with outdoor spectaculars planned across the Midlands and the South over nearly every weekend from July through to September.

Easternbreeze specialises in choosing beautiful parkland locations, sometimes in the grounds of stately homes, but also in town and city centres which pride themselves on creating an urban oasis with well maintained parks and green spaces.

In Bedford, for the 15th consecutive year, the live music weekend kicks off with Proms In The Park, featuring the London Gala Orchestra and Bedford Choral Society, conducted by Stephen Bell, plus guest soloist Juliette Pochin, tenor Lynton Atkinson and an amazing fireworks and laser finale.

Soul On Sunday, on August 3, boasts music from The Four Tops, The Temptations and performances by Alexander O'Neal, Rose Royce featuring Gwen Dickey, Heatwave, Ultimate Earth Wind And Fire, and Imagination featuring Lee John.

Both concerts take place in the beautiful surroundings of Bedford Park.
Easternbreeze sales and marketing manager Sara Mapley said the events are "an ideal summer activity to share with family and friends.

"What better to way to pass a long summer evening than with a relaxing picnic? Alternatively, you can enjoy food and drink from our high quality outlets."

Full details are available at www.easternbreeze.co.uk or telephone the ticket hotline on 0870 842 2230 – some special discounts are still available.

Have you had an annual pay rise in the last 12 months?
Yes, a whopper, thanks for asking.
A small one, but it has hardly covered the increased costs of living.
Not this year, I'm afraid.
What's an annual pay rise? I can't remember the last time I had one.
