Local history group offers stories from the past.

Wartime memories were revived in Willington on Sunday when the National Trust Tudor Dovecote and Stables opened its doors.

The event, organised by Willington Local History Group, had a wide range of memories, photographs and memorabilia from both world wars, and was the first open day run by the group.

Assistant archivist Mervyn Askew said: "The day was a great success and brought back a lot of memories for many visitors. We had a lot of people come to us saying they had photos and other items for our collection."

What's an annual pay rise? I can't remember the last time I had one.
