Title fight for McGowan

BEDFORD Thai Boxer Daniel McGowan, 16, fights for a Golden Belt junior world title at 49kg against Adam Haslam this weekend.

The fight is on Haslam’s home turf in Manchester, but McGowan, who won the WRSA world title in October, is hoping to make it 10 wins in a row.

McGowan then flies out to Thailand the following day to train at Sasiprapa gym, Bangkok in preparation for his biggest challenge yet when he fights on The Prince of Thailand’s Birthday Celebration on July 20 in Rajchaburi Province against Thai opponent Insee Sirinthip at 50kg.

The fight is being shown on National Thai TV.
